Django again

Earlier this year I converted my website to a static website written using Hugo. Initially it was a pretty basic website where I mixed business and private content. Later on I decided to make everything a little bit more attractive, so that it looks more like a proper portfolio.

I am genuinely happy with the changes. Nowadays, I point to my website instead of LinkedIn or my resume.

Then I came across a blog post of nanodjango about using Django as a simple static site builder.

So I converted everything, including translations, theme (Django templates) and sitemap support. It is almost fully identical to the previous version and due to the fact that the output is static it is equally fast.

It all works as nice as Hugo did, but with the technology which is in my comfort zone and the amazing django-distill package.

Earlier this year my intention was to learn more new languages and tools. However, the surprising result is that I am doubling down on my initial choices. 🥳
